Underseat bag for folding wheelchairs: designed specifically for your chair

If you use a folding wheelchair, you've probably tried a bag that wasn't made for your chair. It gets in the way when you fold up, it slides around, or it hangs off the back where you can't reach it.

When we launched the Adaptdefy Underseat Bag for rigid wheelchairs, folding chair users asked the same question again and again. "Will it fit mine?" The answer was no, and we didn't want to hand you a workaround. A folding chair works differently, so it needed its own bag.

Why folding chairs need their own bag.

On a rigid chair, the bag straps over the seat base. That doesn't work on a folding chair. The seat separates from the frame and the cross bar has to be free to fold, so a bag strapped across it gets in the way.

We designed this bag around that. It mounts to the frame instead of the seat, and sits upright in front of the folding cross bar. You get plenty of storage and the bag doesn't add bulk or interfere with how your chair works.

It mounts to your frame.

Four adjustable straps wrap up and around the outside of your frame. They fit a wide range of tube sizes, and there are no tools involved.

1. Undo the straps.
2. Place the bag under your seat to see where the straps should go.
3. Take the front straps up and around the outside of the frame and connect them.
4. Do the same with the back straps.
5. Slide the straps forward or back, and adjust how high the bag hangs.
6. Load up and go.

Unclip it with four buckles, even while seated.

Each corner has a quick-release buckle. Reach down, unclip all four and lift the bag onto your lap. The mounting straps stay on your chair.

When you fold the chair to put it in the car, you can leave the bag on or take it with you. It's also handy at airport security, or anywhere you'd rather keep your gear with you than on your chair. To put it back, clip the buckles in and you're done.

Two sizes to fit most folding chairs.

The bag comes in Medium and Large and fits most manual folding wheelchairs with an outside width of 14 to 22 inches (355–560mm).

• Medium: 10 litres, 294g (10.4oz), fits chairs 14–22 in
• Large: 14 litres, 368g (13oz), fits chairs 18–22 in

To find your size, measure from the outside of one frame tube to the outside of the other and check the sizing matrix on the product page. If your chair is 18 inches or wider, you can choose either size depending on how much you want to carry.

Easy to find what you need.

You can't see into a bag that's under your own seat, so we made it easy to find things by feel. The zips are colour-coded, and each one has a finger loop you can grab with limited grip.

The front pocket is big enough for large phones, including an iPhone Max, so your phone, keys and wallet are always easy to reach. The main compartment holds everything else: a jacket, medical supplies, tools, snacks, whatever your day needs.

Stays out of the way.

The bag sits under your seat, close to your centre of gravity. Your weight stays balanced, and you don't have to twist behind you the way you would with a backpack. It doesn't interfere with your brakes, wheels or footrests, and it works alongside LapStacker.

The fabric is water-resistant, and the base and lining wipe clean with a damp cloth.
