The history of LapStacker.

There had to be a better way.

An age old problem - solved.

The problem

Carrying things in a wheelchair.

For as long as people have been using wheelchairs independently, they have struggled to carry things.

Items constantly threatening to slide off your lap when turning corners or hitting bumps.

2018

Proof of concept.

Mike was fed up, "There had to be a better way to secure items on your lap while using a wheelchair."

After discussing a concept with Tim, a prototype was built and tested.

2019

Market validation.

After extensive R&D, LapStacker was successfully validated on Kickstarter.

A trip to China to source manufacturing partners followed - watch a vlog of the trip here.

2020

Production.

Production of LapStacker 1.0 for manual wheelchairs was completed, and delivered to kickstarter backers. Thanks for your support everyone.

Then, Covid hit - not the best situation.

2021

LapStacker for power chairs.

In response to requests for a power wheelchair version, and making good use of lockdown, LapStacker XD was designed and built for chairs with a T-slot seat rail.

2022

LapStacker XD. Delivered.

LapStacker XD for Permobil, Quantum and Quickie power chairs was delivered to distributors and happy customers. Now available for more brands, you can get yours here.

2023

A new era. LapStacker Flex.

Taking feedback from our awesome customers, LapStacker was completely redesigned to make it lighter, easier to install, easier to buy and easier to use. The result is LapStacker Flex.

2025

A global community

LapStacker is now in the hands of wheelchair users across 30+ countries with thousands of people living a greater than life.
